Mandy York

Center Director and Teacher at Music Time! of Milford

Ms. Mandy is excited to be teaching Music Together® family classes in Milford and Brighton! She is passionate about music and early childhood development. She creates a fun, playful, warm, and safe musical community for her Music Time families.

Mandy studied vocal performance at Grand Valley State University. During her time at the university and then while living in Grand Rapids, she enjoyed performing as a soloist and with local choirs. She taught children's choirs, private lessons, and worked as Development Manager for Opera Grand Rapids.

Mandy and her family moved to Milford in 2014. In the summer of 2015, Mandy completed Music Together® teacher training with Lili Levinowitz, Ph.D. (Director of Research, Music Together LLC, coauthor of Music Together, and Professor Emeritus at Rowan University). She then opened Music Time! of Milford in the Fall of 2015.

Her decision to open a center in Milford was driven by how impressed she was with the quality of the Music Together program. Like Music Together, Mandy believes that ALL children are musical. She believes in making music for the sake of making music, but also because we know music learning supports all learning. Music education is one of the best gifts we can give our children. It lasts a lifetime and enhances our life experiences.
